As I attempt to build this blog into a place you'll visit for youth hockey news and updates, something that's been really great for me is the social media presence of some of the teams in the area. Many of you know that I've started a Facebook page - and if not, you do now, so please "Like" it! I've been trying to share as many posts as possible from some of the area teams that have their own accounts. It's been really good so far - from my perspective at least. I hope you're enjoying the updates. I'm enjoying the experience of sharing them.
The Facebook page has been a nice way to share quick updates without having to create a whole blog post. For those teams/programs that have their own Facebook page or Twitter account, it's a really easy way for me to share news quickly, so please keep posting and I'll keep sharing. For the rest of you, I guess it's time that I be more explicit about what I'm trying to accomplish.
Ideally, I'd like to be able to dedicate a weekly (Monday morning) blog post to scores and game summaries from around the leagues - the DVHL and AYHL to start. Now, I can't do that alone. I'm going to need to rely on you, the readers, to help. Most of you are parents, some are team managers, some may be coaches or hockey directors. Bottom line is you're at the games. You're living the experience. And I want to hear from you.
Send me your team info and I'll share it here and/or on the Facebook page. Your game summaries don't need to be play-by-play - or even period-by-period - accounts. They can be as simple or as elaborate as you want or have the time to manage. I promise that if you send me something I'll share it - scores, game summaries, news and notes - even photos and videos. That's my commitment to you. And better yet, if you tell me what you like or what you'd like to read more of, I'll do my best to be responsive to that too.
